Description Tomasz Finc 2010-08-24 21:47:32 UTC
Were seeing several old banner show up in our tracking analytics. For instance

Total for day - 2010-08-18

2009_Jimmy_Appeal5	Support	pp	1	1	45.08	45.08	45.08
2009_Notice1	Support2	cc	2	0	0	0
donate

Both Jimmy Appeal and Notice1 haven't been show in months yet we have logged click paths for them. This could be hard coded fraud, old squid cache, or something else.
Comment 1 Nimish Gautam 2010-08-25 00:17:19 UTC
Added tracking to figure out whether this banner is actually being served or whether this is fraud or other illegitimate activity
Comment 2 Tomasz Finc 2010-08-26 02:08:38 UTC
Initial research shows that 2009_Notice1 is very commonly associated with fraud.
Comment 3 Tomasz Finc 2010-09-09 20:26:08 UTC
This is indeed fraud. Closing ticket as we have already taken action to fix this.
