Description sauronthefish 2010-07-19 18:31:16 UTC
There appears to be a problem with certain tags (<span></span>) with regards to how they show up in different skins. Please see User:HJ Mitchell's talk page and user page on the English Wikipedia for more details.
Comment 1 Roan Kattouw 2010-07-19 18:34:51 UTC
I can't find the word "span" on that page. Please paste the actual bug report here in Bugzilla or at least link to it with a real link.

[[User:HJ Mitchell]]. the English flag on top.
Comment 3 sauronthefish 2010-07-19 18:39:25 UTC
that is the problem. the flag will not go where we are telling it to.
Comment 4 Nikola Kovacs 2010-07-19 19:22:55 UTC
It does go where you are telling it to, it is positioned relative to the bodyContent div, which is lower in the vector skin (because of the bigger tab buttons), so the flag is lower than the logo in the vector skin. That's what position:absolute means, it is relative to the nearest parent element which is not statically positioned, in this case bodyContent. It is not relative to the page itself.

This is not really a bug.
Comment 5 sauronthefish 2010-07-19 19:26:46 UTC
if this is not really a bug than could someone redirect me to somewhere that can answer this in any way other than "file a bugzilla"?
Comment 6 Nikola Kovacs 2010-07-19 19:31:04 UTC
see my answer at the technical village pump. The best way to do this would be similar to topicon, using css that's different for each skin.
