Description Neill Mitchell 2010-07-11 16:13:45 UTC
Hi.

I'm using SF 1.9.1.

In my form I have:
{{{info|create title=Add Person|edit title=Edit Person}}}

However, when I click the formlink button and go into the form, it says
"Special Page" instead of Add Person or Edit Person at the top.

This used to work. Has it got broken?

Unfortunately a lot of my users have spotted this and asked why it has changed, hence the severity.

Thanks
Neill.

Hi.

I'm getting a number of complaints about this one now as it used to work when using SF 1.8.8.

It is not obvious to a user what is going on when they press a form button or edit with form. Before it would say "Add Person" or "Edit Person". Now it just says Special Page. I have a lot of forms in the system, so all of them now just saying "Special Page" instead of the specified add title/edit title is causing confusion.

If this regression could be fixed it would be greatly appreciated.

(Note my example above should read add title=, not create title=)

Thanks.

Hi - I'm finally looking at this now. This question seems odd to me - you're using #formlink, i.e. using the one-step process, yet your "info" tag doesn't specify a page-name formula, so it shouldn't work. Could it be that your form has two "info" tags? If so, that might be causing the problem.

Hi Yaron.

It looks like this is a skin issue. I'm using the Nouveau skin that has javascript. If I switch to Monobook it correctly shows "Add Person" and "Edit Person". With the Nouveau skin it just says "Special page" for both create and edit.

Thanks.

Okay, thanks. I'm setting this to 'invalid' - I don't know if this is still a problem in SF 2.0, but in any case it doesn't sound like an SF bug per se.

Hi Yaron.

Still doesn't work with SF 2.0 unfortunately. I think it's possibly down to clashing javascript engines. The Nouveau skin is a cut down version of the Halo skin.

I guess all the major SMW parties need to get round the table and work out how to avoid these clashes. Perhaps a set of guidelines could be drawn up as well for other skin developers.

Thanks
Neill.
