Description Liangent 2010-07-05 03:33:54 UTC
The message "\nThe database is currently locked to new entries and other modifications, probably for routine database maintenance, after which it will be back to normal. The administrator who locked it offered this explanation: Down for unplanned maintenance" has one extra "\n" before it.

Appearing on Wikipedia now.

This is due to the server issues before.
Comment 2 Liangent 2010-07-05 03:54:51 UTC
No matter how rarely this message is used, it's still a bug.

The server is fixed, so it cannot be seen on Wikipedia now.

More accurately, I met this message in a &action=delete page.

I've just installed a clean 1.16.0, switched skin to Vector and set $wgReadOnly to "foobar".

I noticed that this "\n" is still occuring in the output. I'm guessing someone used single quotes somewhere by mistake.

\nThe database is currently locked to new entries and other modifications, probably for routine database maintenance, after which it will be back to normal. The administrator who locked it offered this explanation: foobar

I tried looking where this is defined. Not sure where this happends, becuase MediaWiki:Readonlywarning is not used always (only when editing, when for example trying to create an account the above "\n"-message appears instead of MediaWiki:Readonlywarning.

Cannot reproduce in trunk. Too lazy to dig up 1.16 to try to fix it.
