The link dialog of the new toolbar properly autocompletes the names of special pages, but flags them as "Bad title", making it impossible to actually insert them.

The server returns {"warnings":{"query":{"*":"No support for special pages has been implemented"}}}. We should not display an existence check result if we don't have one.
