I opened this bug to ask for an implementation of the MediaWiki software. Basically I would like to select, on any page, the sections to change without however changing the entire page. For example ... = Test Page = == 1 == == 2 == == 3 == ... in the sample page shown schematically above I wish I could change the sections 1 and 2 but not the 3 through a series of checkboxes alongside the various sections. Thank you
That feature looks pretty unintuitive. How exactly do you suggest to start selectin sections? Always have those checkboxes? Add a special command, "edit some sections" near the simple edit link? How will edit screen look? Several edit boxes? Or one? If the latter, how software is supposed to deduce what should be placed where if user changes section names or reorders them?

If the latter, how software is supposed to deduce what > should be placed where if user changes section names or reorders them? All questions you have placed are understandable. But unfortunately I can not answer all because I am not a developer, like you, then I can only advise you. I propose placing a checkbox next to the simple edit link of the section and also propose putting a link to edit the selected sections to the top, perhaps making the "Edit" button a drop down menu that includes all options to edit a page. As for the edit screen look I propose you to maintain the current editing window, but by all sections appear in the window previously selected to edit and save them all at the same time. These are my suggestions.
If someone has an idea how to do that reasonably, without cluttering the interface and make it foolproof, they can always reopen this bug. But for now there's nothing to implement.
