As mentioned at wikitech [1][2][3], it is possible to simplify sortkeys so that we have a workaround for Bug 164, at least for category ordering. For portuguese, the order used is as in [4]: [a á à â ã b c ç d e é ê f g h i í j k l m n o ó ò ô õ p q r s t u ú v w x y z] So, the category sections for letters with diacritics could be grouped as in a á à â ã --> a c ç --> c e é ê --> e i í --> i o ó ò ô õ --> o u ú --> u This way, in a category like "Matemática" (Mathematics) containing both "Aritmética" (Mathematics) and "Álgebra" (Algebra), both articles would be at the same section "A" by default (instead of having to define manually a sortkey at the article "Álgebra" with [[Categoria:Álgebra|Algebra]]) [1] http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2010-June/048082.html [2] http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2010-June/048083.html [3] http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2010-June/048085.html [4] http://demo.icu-project.org/icu-bin/locexp?d_=en&_=pt
Maybe a duplicate or depends of bug 164?
