horizontal scroll-bars due to non-multlined links are annoying

the attached image shows the non-desired behavior

Which long URLs are you talking about ? I dont see any in the screenshot.

Such long urls shouldn't be used raw on the page. This can be fixed fairly simple by giving the URL a name.

Could you link to the article this link appears in ?

I'm suggesting WONTFIX.

To get back at the original request, this is already being done.
URLs that contain a dash("-") or slash ("/") are being multilined when space is short.
