Created attachment 7481 [details] Search selected Trying to click on the search bar, you can end up selecting the "Search" text, which should be impossible. Then anything you type is ignored.
Are you actually clicking on the search box? I can not replicate this without clicking outside the box, holding the mouse and moving into the box. I don't see this being a case we'd need to worry about unless the user can do this by first clicking on the search box. What browser are you seeing this problem in?
Firefox 3.6.3 Seems you can also reproduce it by pressing down over the box, selecting and leaving the button outside. Looks like it is cleared by a mouseup, which is not triggered, instead of mousedown. However, a simple mouse down outside the text "Search" also clears it, so it's probably more complex.
