You could simply drop these parameters.

Similarly, I think it would be reasonable to name the start and end points in a specific way, i.e.

{{#ask: [[some::x]] 
 |? my start property = START
 |? my end property   = END
}}

and not if you wanted an eventline format result.

Basically, the eventline format could be merged with the timeline format by an addition of a parameter.
