Description Derk-Jan Hartman 2010-05-13 22:15:54 UTC
When you copy something, then paste it by using the mouse and right clicking, choosing "paste", then search, 'null' is passed to the searchengine.
Comment 1 Derk-Jan Hartman 2010-05-13 22:28:17 UTC
Proper action to reproduce, "right click, paste, press enter"
Comment 2 Derk-Jan Hartman 2010-05-13 22:29:00 UTC
Found with Firefox 3.5.7 and Safari 4
Comment 3 Roan Kattouw 2010-05-14 10:39:50 UTC
Related to bug 23498
Comment 4 Conrad Irwin 2010-05-14 10:49:47 UTC
Same with middle-click paste on Linux.

If you drag text into the search box, and click on search it searches fine (but the greyed out "Search" does not disappear because it is never focussed).

Tested in Firefox, Chrome and Opera.

This was fixed in either r23622 or r66565. Anyway, works now.
Comment 6 Conrad Irwin 2010-06-02 20:43:04 UTC
Dragging text into the box still doesn't work - but I guess no-one actually uses that method of interaction. Should I open a new bug?

Added a drangend handler in r67258. This only works for mozilla, but I'm afraid thats the best we can do without polling for changes.
