Steps to reproduce:
1) Access http://prototype.wikimedia.org/en.wikipedia.org/Main_Page
2) Select a random page and click Edit tab
3) Select a sentence  (highlight)
4) Click on Bold/Italic icons

are inserted after the selected text in IE8

Expected Outcome:
Syntax shall be inserted around the selected text.
