If one goes to [[Special:CentralAuth]] and enters "gurch" in the user name field, the result is "There is no global account for gurch". Entering "Gurch" works as expected.

Global user names are not first-letter case-sensitive, so the page should normalize them as is done everywhere else, for example by the contributions and logs pages.

I can't find the SVN revision id for this, but was fixed in https://git.wikimedia.org/commit/mediawiki%2Fextensions%2FCentralAuth.git/5cb45b3a85c7b501577dc714cabb164128de8631.
