When loading a page, often the adding of the extra tabs of Commons is animated.

When logged in, see for instance:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Downtown_Gatlinburg,_Tennessee.JPG

I think it might be better if this animation was only applied when the tabs are moved due to window resize, and not when tabs are added.

This only really happens because local JS adds more tabs and calls some function (I forget which) after adding them.

Assigning to Adam as he's the collapsible tabs guy and stuck in Berlin anyway.

All animations of the tab bar items are currently disabled.

or rather animations of the 'extra' tabbars have been disabled.
