The XML Schema file posted at http://www.mediawiki.org/xml/export-0.4.xsd appears to be invalid.  XML Schema requires (see http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/#d0e4233) that every element declaration must define either a "ref" or a "name" attribute.  The export schema defines an element at line 119 (following the comment "Zero or One sets of discussion threading data"), that defines neither.
