Description absmith55 2010-03-25 18:15:02 UTC
If I perform a search of the name "A.R. Gurney" in Wikipedia, a list of pages is returned. Every time I select the first page in the list, my entire browser (Firefox 3.6.2) crashes. I'm able to successfully navigate through other pages on Wikipedia, so I suspect it has something to specifically do with the Gurney page.

I.e., this happens when you visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._R._Gurney ? Does the crash still happen when you visit this page with all Firefox plugins disabled?
Comment 2 absmith55 2010-03-25 18:47:10 UTC
Yes, that's the link.

I disabled all plugins and retried the page. It works. I re-enabled the plugins one-by-one and narrowed the problem down to the Quicktime 7.6.4 plugin. I haven't had trouble on any other sites or pages.

Per comment #2 this is a bug in the Quicktime plugin, not in MediaWiki. A web page should not have the power to crash the browser; if it does, that's a bug in the browser or in one of its plugins.
