I think all links that have class="external" should also have rel="external"
Out of curiosity, does that give any tangible benefit to the wiki?
1. SEO 2. Screenreader It's additional information to the link. If everybody first asks what the benefit is and nobody just does not use it because at the moment there is any benefit browser developers will never implement any possible benefits. It's given in HTML that links can have the rel attribut to specify the relation. So is there any reason for not using it?

Furthermore: does this actually add anything. if a screen reader cannot tell that the link is external by virture of the domain of the link being different from the current site, thats pretty sad.
Well, but having a link to another domain does Not mean that it's an external Link. It's just about Marking links acording to conventions
If no actual real-world reason can be given to add this, I'd suggest WONTFIX.
I certainly can't think of one. Closing as such. Feel free to reopen if a good reason to do this can be found.
