Description biowongyc 2010-02-14 14:47:43 UTC
I could not search anything from the wikimedia installed from the free webhosting: www.freehostia.com

I am a newbie in PHP / MYSQL. I chose the "SQLite" when I install the wikimedia onto my website, as the installation process did not pass if I chose (MYSQL) (the webhosting said it has MYSQL). I could do all stuff smoothly after installation, except that I could not search for the words in what I typed in on the wikimedia of my website.

Sorry for my bad english.

Could you be more specific as to how exactly the search didn't work? "It didn't work" or "I couldn't search" is not very useful.

Sorry.

No matter what keyword I typed in the search box, it could not get any results.

For example, I surely I wrote "CE" in some of my pages, however, when I type in "CE" in the search box (when I typed it, there was no quotation mark""), it only gave me the following search result:

You searched for CE (all pages starting with "CE" | all pages that link to "CE")
Jump to: navigation, search
No page title matches

There is no page titled "CE". You can create this page.

So you installed it on a SQLite database? Unfortunately, 1.15 did not support searching with SQLite. This will be addressed in 1.16 which will (hopefully) released reasonably soon. Because adding it required numerous changes in different parts of the software, this feature will not be backported to 1.15.x.

Thx a lot for your help~!

Tweaking resolution. REMIND means we'll be revisiting this later. No need, since it's already been done.

WFM on trunk, other users will have to wait until the next release.
