Hi, I was told to file a request to 'reattribute' edits here, because it requires some with the appropriate access, and cannot AFIAK be done from within the wiki as such. (Apologies for duplicate bugs, but I seem to have had some problems in submitting this.) The reason for making this request is to partially merge some 'alternate' accounts. What follows is a 'script' detailing the edits to re-attribute. Format of script is as follows: {!data} - is followed by 3 paramaters 1st param -> User whose edits are to be re-attributed. 2nd param -> User to whom the edits are to be re-attributed. 3rd param -> Domain/Database concerned. {<blah>} is a namespace on the wiki concerned. and can be followed by one of the following: {{all}} - All edits under that namespace by the user to be re-attributed are to be re-attributed. {{include}}- Only the edits made in that namespace listed are to be re-aatributed. {{exclude}}- All edits of the user under the namespace to be re-attributed EXCEPT those listed. I've used this format as it should be straightforward to automate the re-attributions from it. Thanks User:ShakespeareFan00 >> Start of script << !Edit attribution migration script - {!data} Sfan00_IMG,ShakespeareFan00,enwikisource {Article} {{include}} http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Bradshaw%27s_Monthly_Railway_and_Steam_Navigation_Guide_(XVI)&oldid=1027954 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Bradshaw%27s_Monthly_Railway_and_Steam_Navigation_Guide_(XVI)&oldid=1027951 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Taxation_Act_1722&oldid=996150 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950890 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950877 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950876 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950875 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950874 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950871 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950870 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950849 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473)&oldid=950848 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Brundtland_Report/Chapter_3._The_Role_of_the_International_Economy&oldid=950167 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Brundtland_Report/Chapter_2._Towards_Sustainable_Development&oldid=950165 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Brundtland_Report/From_One_Earth_to_One_World&oldid=950155 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Bradshaw%27s_Monthly_Railway_Guide&oldid=872045 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Phenomenal_Hailstorm_with_Thunderstorm,_Sydney_1st_January_1947&oldid=850318 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=The_Elements_of_Euclid/Exercises/579-591&oldid=834852 http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Elements_of_Euclid/Exercises/579-591 {User} {{all}} {wikisource} {{all}} {Template} {{all}} {Author} {{exclude}} http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:Henry_Brooks_Adams&oldid=1760913 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:Barach_Obama/Presidential_Proclamations&oldid=1137168 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:Almodhafer_al-Abiwerdy&oldid=1705185 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:W.S._Gilbert&oldid=1022549 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:W._S._Gilbert&oldid=1022548 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:Alexandr_Pushkin&oldid=1020422 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:Aleksandr_S._Pushkin&oldid=1020421 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:J.M._Barrie&oldid=1020420 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:John_M._Harlow,_M.D.&oldid=1020419 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:Harlow&oldid=1020418 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:T.S._Eliot&oldid=1020416 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Author:W.S._Gilbert&oldid=1020413 {Index} {{include}} http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Armistice_Day.djvu&oldid=834904 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Armistice_Day.djvu&oldid=834905 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:The_Elements_of_Euclid_for_the_Use_of_Schools_and_Colleges_-_1872.djvu&oldid=843379 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:1947SydneyHailstorm.djvu&oldid=850315 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Our_American_Holidays_-_Christmas.djvu&oldid=928007 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Principia_Ethica&oldid=950420 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Copyright_Law_Revision_(Senate_Report_No._94-473).djvu&oldid=950842 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Bradshaw%27s_Monthly_(XVI).djvu&oldid=1016346 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Bradshaw%27s_Monthly_(XVI).djvu&oldid=1016410 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Bradshaw%27s_Monthly_(XVI).djvu&oldid=1021047 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Catalog_of_copyright_entries_v5_1.djvu&oldid=1023368 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Catalog_of_copyright_entries_v4_1.djvu&oldid=1023411 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Catalog_of_copyright_entries_v4_1.djvu&oldid=1023412 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Catalog_of_copyright_entries_v4_1.djvu&oldid=1023413 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Catalog_of_copyright_entries_v4_1.djvu&oldid=1023418 http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Index:Bradshaw%27s_Monthly_(XVI).djvu&oldid=1024427 {page} {{All}}
Is this still needed?
I'm going to WONTFIX this, original requester never replied when inquired if it was still needed and afaik the ops prefer not to change the edit attributions unless its all the user edits and are merging them together.
+1 on the WONTFIX. Really the only time I've seen us reattribute edits is when RenameUser failed to complete its reattribution process.
OK, I've only just noticed this was STILL open, the earlier request about it still being needed must have got lost in my mail system. If as Chad H. states it's not possible to re-attribute edits unless there's a technical foul-up fair enough. However to respond to p858Snake , Yes the reattribution IS to merge Edits made by Sfan00_IMG and ShakespeareFan00 on the wikis concerned. :) Thanks :)
