Description Ben Herzberg 2010-01-04 16:01:08 UTC
I'd like to ask for the "Export to PDF" feature for HE wikipedia.

Tim says he has emailed Johannes Beigel to ask whether the Collection
extension stack supports RTL languages.
Comment 1 Volker Haas 2010-01-12 08:45:31 UTC
Currently the PDF rendering software (mwlib.rl) does not support right-to-left languages. The main reason is that the underlying PDF toolkit (reportlab) does not support RTL languages. The good news is that just recently there has been some progress in adding RTL support by the reportlab community. I believe that it will probably take another month or two until RTL support will be available.

Enabling the collection extension on he.wikipedia.org should therefore be postponed.
Comment 2 Diederik van Liere 2011-11-29 23:03:12 UTC
It seems that Collection now has RTL support, is it time to reconsider this request?
Comment 3 Dan Collins 2012-03-17 23:19:05 UTC
Reopen per Diederik.
Comment 4 Alex Monk 2012-07-27 15:38:06 UTC
Is there local community consensus for this extension to be installed?
Comment 5 Andre Klapper 2012-10-29 09:47:10 UTC
Hi Ben. For any configuration change, we require a local consensus. Could you discuss the matter on http://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:VP (or any more appropriate place) to confirm that this change is wanted by the community, and paste the link to the discussion here?
Comment 6 Andre Klapper 2013-04-05 15:25:10 UTC
No on-wiki consensus (or any discussion at all) was provided.
Please reopen after providing a link to local discussion with consensus.
