Description James Alexander 2010-01-02 00:23:22 UTC
We would like to create a mailing list for internal discussions between the EnWiki Abuse Response team. At the start the list would mostly be used for internal discussions regarding the restructuring of the project and questions about the reports. The discussions on wiki and on IRC ([[irc:#wikipedia-en-abuse]]) have shown that a mailing list could be especially beneficial for this. A link to the list would be available on the front of the Abuse Response page.

The team is also developing a toolserver application similar to the current ACC Account Creation tool to facilitate reporting, investigating and contacting. This tool would allow us to keep personally identifiable information private while keeping the majority of reports public for both wiki users as well as ISPs who have been contacted. It is also likely to encourage additional users to be interested in the project and allow users to be approved. When this application is ready (expected to be done in 2-3 months) we would also like to put the mailing list as the reply to email for outgoing reports. There has been some discussion that this email should be a separate and new mailing list to this current request but that has not been decided. The possible 2nd list would be en-abuse-team, if you are willing to create both now that would be great so that we would not have to request the 2nd later.

Please let me know if you have any questions
