Description Diaa 2009-12-16 11:12:15 UTC
When playing the file http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Reveille_on_bugle.ogg it stops at the first second / half and probably buffers (can't see the seek bar or an indication on if it's loading or not). Could the buffer be set to load at least the first five seconds first then play the file?
Comment 1 Michael Dale 2009-12-16 19:47:51 UTC
this is a bug with the upstream firefox video support. When issuing a play request on a video that just got inserted into a page, the player appears to play 1/4 of a second, stops playing to buffer more media then plays the rest of the clip. I will try and get this fixed upstream as well as add a hack to the javascript player to not issue a "play" request until it has fired the canplaythough event or we have buffered a few seconds of the clip... (sometimes the canplaythough event is not fired)

this is fixed in later versions of video implementations ( firefox 4x and other browsers did not have this problem )
