Whenever a project is reaching to have a milestone article, you have to check
both of Special:Statistics and Special:Newpages synchronically, to confirm what
is the correct milestone article. This way is absurd, and you might pick the
wrong one. Special:Newpages should show article count at the top of the page to
pick the right article to claim.

a) This information is not recorded across time
b) Article count is affected by many actions, not all of which are page creations
c) the counters aren't accurate anyway.
