Description William Wheaton 2009-11-16 15:33:56 UTC
I left a message as I was leaving beta about this issue. This is an update, confirming it is a beta problem.

I was editing [[LHC]] article, after logging in properly, but when I hit preview (of "Purpose" section edit) it demanded new login. But then it just looped back, wouldn't log me in.

Main page showed watchlist, etc, even after reload, so it still knew me. But attempt to edit my talk page failed in the same manner.

When I left beta and tried again, all was well, and edit was accepted, plus another to the LHC page lead. So it is definitely a beta issue.

Cheers, Wwheaton

The links at the main page could have been cached by your browser.
Leaving the beta would purge a number of caches, so if something was broken, could have fixed the symptoms, but doesn't mean they were due to the beta.

This was quite possibly related to the downtime we experienced an hour or so ago.

Check if the issue still occurs.

Can't replicate anymore. Probably related to comment #2. Feel free to reopen if you can replicate it again.
