Hi! I had the impression that selfinclusion of categories was "filtered out" some time ago. http://jadesukka.homelinux.org:8180/betawiki/Image:Selfinclusion_of_categories.jpg shows that life eo.wikipedia.org allows selfinclusion (again). Regards Reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
This occurs in versions 1.3.13, 1.4.5 and 1.5-cvs. Dropping Severity to minor, as the problem is avoidable and doesn't seem to break anything.
Selfinclusion for categories is annoying but common in most Wikipedias. Something like Special:Categorycircles is more helpful than forbiding them (Erik Zachte provides circular categories detection in his stats)
Selfinclusion may be useful for the biggest category in the project... the base, fundament.
Updated original url because "Betawiki" was moved. See also [[wikt:yi:category:bugzilla/02132]]. Links generated due to selfinclusion are "selfreferencing" links. Should these be bold? best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
Redirects from one category 'foo' to another category 'bar' are allowed. At the moment the redirected category 'foo' will be a subcategory of the target category 'bar'. This is no 100% self inclusion but very closed to this. The irritating problem is that clicking on such a link (to the redirecting category 'foo') will display the same results as before i.e the content of 'bar' with th only small indication "Redirect from 'foo'".
Still a problem in MW 1.11.0.
