Description MACARENO Richard 2009-09-17 11:07:56 UTC
Hi

First, I'm contributor to the french Wikipédia : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilisateur:II...Richard...II

I'd like to have a new spécial page like this one http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sp%C3%A9cial:Doubles_redirections

This page looks for redirect wich redirect to the title page...

What I want is near the same behaviour.

Some articles have links pointing to "redirect" wich redirect to the article itself.

I hope you understand my engrish...

Example :
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercalation_(mesure_du_temps) "Intercalation"
has got a link (bottom of page)
http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mois_intercalaire&redirect=no "Mois intercalaire"
Wich redirect to "Intercalation"

So you click on a link -> then you go nowhere else than where you are...

Is it clear ?

There are many articles like this. In the same way of http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sp%C3%A9cial:Doubles_redirections I think this is really usefull. A reader of wikipedia who reads an article asue click on this, seeing this, may think the article is bad, more, wikipedia is bad...

I think it's an improvment to tack this kind of links...

Better than asking for a bot if, it can do this, a special page would be welcome...

I made a request to http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Stefan_K%C3%BChn/Check_Wikipedia but it appears he can't do that with his script.

I made a request in France, but i was not in the right place, they make follow me to you, here...
In this request they didn't say "no, you should not ask for this...".... If never a French contributor is here, Read my french message perhaps for better understanding : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Demande_d%27intervention_sur_un_message_syst%C3%A8me#Sorte_de_doubles_redirections

Again, i think we need this

Thanks Before
Richard

As best I can understand, you want a Special page that lists pages like the following:

Page A links to Page B. Page B redirects back to Page A.

This new special page would list pages like A. Tweaking summary, product, etc.

That's it.

You understood well.

And it's not only usefull for french wiki, all other project may have, more or less, this "problem"...

I don't know if it's possible or welcome, but a choice to have a complete liste or to refine it by portal or category...
Only a suggest

I thought at litle at the problem :

Can the page have like [http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projet:Restauration_des_ancres_bris%C3%A9es/W this one], on each line :

1st link : the article -- 2nd link the redirect (with target section if exists) ?

It would help contributors for fixing this links.
