Description Jan Ainali 2009-08-31 00:31:55 UTC
We would like to have Extension:Social_Bookmarking activated on Wikimedia Sverige's wiki at http://se.wikimedia.org
Comment 1 p858snake 2009-08-31 23:32:40 UTC
Changed Keywords: (N/A) → Shell, need-review
* Please provide a link to the community consensus for this change.
* This extension doesn't appear to be active on any WMF wiki's so it will need a review of the code before it's possibly.
Comment 2 Jan Ainali 2009-09-02 22:38:55 UTC
*The consensus was made on the boards internal mailinglist. This is not a community driven wiki.
*I thought this was the extension en.wikinews uses. If they use another extension it is perfectly alright , they have the functionality that we want.

en.wikinews does not use the 'Social Bookmarking' extension. Which functionality is it that you're thinking of that you thought was provided by this extension? Can you link to a page describing or showing it?

I'm assuming it's the [[Extenstion:Social_Bookmarking]] that is listed on the MW wiki[1]. It's just one of those things that gives you the icons to easily save/save on those social sites such as digg/reddit/facebook/del.icio.us and such.

After actually looking at a Wikinews news article, they are actually doing theirs by a template[1] that they insert on each article after it has been reviewed.

I see. After have looking at the wikisyntax for the template:social bookmarks [1] I guess we can do it the same way. This request can be closed.

Ok, closing as WORKSFORME as template implementation is ready and done. :)
