Certain user gadgets (like Qui, the purge clock, and the * purge link) only work when I enable the following options: * The JavaScript Standard Library, a compatibility library for browsers that lack full support for JavaScript 1.6. This includes Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari 2. * Compatibility function to run scripts only tested on Monobook on the new Vector skin. Required for using Twinkle or Friendly (along with many other scripts) with the Vector skin.
The problem is with the gadgets, not with the skin.
Hoewever in the non beta version these gadgets worked perfectly
Yes, but the problem is that the gadgets are poorly-written and depend on particular aspects of Monobook's (the original skin) operation. The authors have failed to write them to be adequately compatible with future skins. You should talk to the original authors. As you stated in your own bug report, there is a workaround available.
So can you report this problem to the gadget authors?
(In reply to comment #4) > So can you report this problem to the gadget authors? No, if you have a problem with it, you can report it to them yourself. As volunteers, it's not our job to do your work for you.
Who's the author of those gadgets?

No, the skin system is poorly written because it gratuitously changes around all the id's and classes at random from skin to skin for no reason, and every new skin these days adds its own totally different HTML output such that all scripts that interact with the page content are guaranteed to break. I doubt that the usability people are going to be willing to rewrite Vector to use identical HTML output to Monobook at this point, but if there are specific id's that are missing for no reason, say, then we absolutely should add those for compatibility.
