Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Catherine Munro 2005-04-25 03:12:27 UTC
The interface could be improved on this; is it possible to remove the "move" tab
from the "Image:" namespace? (Unless moving/renaming is going to be allowed in
future versions - ref Bug 709)

If not, the current error message ("This action cannot be performed on this
page.") could be improved -- since it probably shouldn't mention 'pedia-specific
deletion tags and procedures, perhaps something along these lines:

"Media files cannot be moved or renamed. You may upload another copy of the
file with a new name, update any links to the old file, then arrange for the old
file to be deleted."

Fixed in CVS HEAD and REL1_4 and put live on Wikimedia sites.

Title::userCan() was not taking namespace-wide movability into account for move permission checks, so the move tab was
incorrectly shown.
