Description Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 2009-07-08 13:22:17 UTC
(Moved from http://code.google.com/p/wikimaps/issues/detail?id=13)

For Antarctica, the normal projection used for OpenStreetMap is entirely
inappropriate. Instead, when users request a map for a location at 60-90°
S, use the Antarctic Polar Stereographic projection.

(and this is such a case where World Wind imagery and other layer types
will be important)
