Description Ulisses Guedes 2009-06-19 14:26:27 UTC
At least at 10 days, the wikipedia sites are reachable only if the user defines the proxy 208.80.152.49:80 (sq39.wikimedia.org) manually.

It appears a problem with configuration of DNS or http_proxy is working under reverse_proxy configuration or missed ones.

Asking wikipedia DNS the en.wikipedia.org is translated to 208.80.152.2. Running any navigator (IE, Opera, Mozilla's) the page contents is only an empty page, without any protocol redirection.

But, if the user, manually configures the proxy to 208.80.152.49 or defines 208.80.15.2 as en.wikipedia.org at /etc/hosts file then the page is transferred and everything works fine.

So, I guess that diagnostics may be also a "DNS view" configuration.

According to Bugzilla component, there are some problems to upload pages. These facts may compromise the upload action as soon as the download the page contents.

BTW, could you review the configurations?

Thanks a lot.

Rest of the world seems able to access Wikipedia through that load balancer IP...
