Description Dragonòt 2009-06-18 07:02:03 UTC
In the PMS Wikipedia (http://pms.wikipedia.org), if an unexisting page is entered in the "search" field, and then the "Go" or "Search" buttons are pressed, the result is

"500 Internal server error".

(For "Search" and "Go" I used the english word, in PMS they are localized).

The error started from 15 or 16 june, because on sunday 14 june it wasn't.

The you for any help,

Dragonòt

This is very likely a problem with the site js on pmswiki. Try removing the custom code from MediaWiki:Common.js. It seems to rewrite the search page to a wrong url like this:

http://pms.wikipedia.org/wiki/index.php/test?title=Special%3ARicerca&search=test&fulltext=S%C3%ABrca

but the correct url (which works correctly) is:

http://pms.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=test&fulltext=Search

Thank you, I checked the Mediawiki:Commons.js. It seems not to be changed.
May I cancel it?

While it is true that wiki shouldn't be producing blank pages for URLs like that I am not sure why are you using that JavaScript in the first place? Could you just turn it off until the issue is resolved, or delete it completely if it doesn't really doing anything essential.

Today the "search field" returned to work well, without any intervention in the PMS wikipedia.
Very strange.
We could close the bug,
thank you,
Dragonòt
