Description Siebrand Mazeland 2009-06-04 11:14:34 UTC
The new custom field 'Web browser' is not in Advanced search. Please fix.
Comment 1 Siebrand Mazeland 2009-06-04 11:40:12 UTC
Hmm, maybe this is expected behaviour. A search *is* possible using "Advanced Searching Using Boolean Charts" where "Web browser" is a searchable field. It is just not that user friendly. If the former is true and expected, feel free to close INVALID.

But I'd tend to recommend dropping the field, as maintaining a set of arbitrary free-form browser names/versions isn't terribly likely to be useful. Why's it there?
Comment 3 Platonides 2009-06-23 00:11:23 UTC
The bugs don't have such field...
Comment 4 Brion Vibber 2009-06-23 00:12:19 UTC
That's due to I've removed it.
Comment 5 Platonides 2009-06-23 00:14:14 UTC
Oh, right. I see it now. I think I never noticed it.

Is *was* there because MediaWiki will be getting a load of JavaScript soon and Michael expects bugs reported that are specific to web browsers. Tracking them using a metadata field instead of with user unfriendly tracking bugs was the reason the field was added.

P.s. would you happen to be the same person that removed the JavaScript components I had added a few weeks ago?

Changing all WONTFIX high priority bugs to lowest priority (no mail should be generated since I turned it off for this.)
