Description Colin W 2009-05-28 01:33:33 UTC
I am attempting to edit my userpage, and whenever I click edit it just shows me the download screen. I checked to make sure this was not OS/Browser specific by testing it on Opera 9.64 (Windows XP, Windows Vista), Firefox 3.0.10 (Mac OS X, Vista, XP, Ubuntu 8.10, Ubuntu 9.04, Ubuntu 9.10a) and Internet Explorer (Vista, XP). Because I got the same bug with all of those, it seems like the PHP interpreter is either failing to properly process the document. I have attached a screenshot and the downloaded .php document (named index.php) contains just this:

[Process]
Type=Edit text
Engine=MediaWiki
Script=http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php
Server=http://en.wikipedia.org
Path=/w
Special namespace=Special

[File]
Extension=wiki

It looks like you turned on the "Use external editor by default" preference. Go into your preferences, select the "Editing" tab, and turn it off. See [[mw:Manual:External editors]] for more details.
