When a user logs in with his OpenID and a new account gets created by this procedure, it doesn't appear in the Special:Log/newusers. MediaWiki version 1.14.0

I wanted to try this bug fix by using the latest version r52237 and when logging in with an openid I got the following error: 

"Verification of the OpenID URL failed. Error message: "return_to does not match return URL. Expected http://bocpages.org/wiki/Special:OpenIDLogin/Finish, got http://bocpages.org/wiki/Special:OpenIDLogin/Finish?janrain_nonce=2009-06-21T14%3A14%3A59ZTOBqsT"
Return to Main Page."

Reverting to the 1.14.x version fixed the problem, but unfortunately I remain unable to verify this specific bug fix.

PS: I googled a bit on the error and found the following page: http://lists.openidenabled.com/pipermail/dev/2008-June/001328.html (apparently it has something to do with url encoding)

This is strange, I cannot reproduce it (using myopenid.com as provider).
