When using the extension Emoticons, references don't appear anymore on Oncyclopedia. At this moment the Emoticon extension is dissabled.

Anyone any idea how this is possible?

On the extension page at [[mw:Extension:Emoticons]], there is a note that if you are using a recent version of MediaWiki, you must modify the extension file.  Have you made this modification?

I did try this but it won't work. At this moment the extension is installed, view here:

At the bottom under "Notenbalk" references should appear but they don't..

The current version of the extension thing is the one on this page (under MediaWiki 1.12 fix):

This extension is not in the MediaWiki svn, and is considered out of scope of this tracker. Closing as INVALID.
