Description Eugene Zelenko 2009-05-05 17:35:05 UTC
I think will be good idea to rename image to file in API parameters (including abbreviations) and help page to keep API and MediaWiki consistent because of impelmented bug 44. Old parameters names should be kept as aliases for backward compatibility.

This is a cosmetic change, which would either break lots of stuff or introduce lots of useless aliases. Since bot authors are lazy, they're not gonna migrate to the new names if the old names still work, which means renaming serves no purpose other than to make the name look nicer, which is not something that matters terribly much.
