Description Erel Segal 2009-05-04 04:23:54 UTC
A namespace is needed at Hebrew Wikisource for text-related games.

The namespace should be "משחק" (four characters) and corresponding
talkspace should be "שיחת משחק".

Please show a link to a consenus showing that namespace is wanted.
Comment 2 Happy-melon 2009-05-14 09:53:49 UTC
I don't think we're going to see this any time soon.
Comment 3 Dovi Jacobs 2009-05-14 15:01:24 UTC
Actually, this is still under discussion at the village pump and we are thinking of adding more to the request.
Comment 4 Happy-melon 2009-05-14 15:40:50 UTC
So why no response in the intervening ten days? And when you say "text games", what exactly do you mean? Are you sure it's within Wikimedia's project scope?
Comment 5 Dovi Jacobs 2009-05-15 09:29:13 UTC
Patience please, we all know that in the world of Bugzilla ten days is no time at all... :-)

Regarding project scope, Wikisource is for source texts and for functions that add value to source texts (educational annotations, commentaries, translations, illustrations, etc). You can look at English Wikisource policy on this, though unfortunately you can't read ours in Hebrew. In any case, we have decided to include within the scope of the wiki educational games on texts (mostly revolving around text-based questions and quizzes), but in a separate namespace to differentiate it from the actual texts themselves. This is a community decision that not a single person has questioned, and has produced quality educational material. The only question is the technical one of a namespace.

That is still being discussed, and even though there is support for it in the meantime (see http://he.wikisource.org/wiki/%D7%95%D7%99%D7%A7%D7%99%D7%98%D7%A7%D7%A1%D7%98:%D7%9E%D7%96%D7%A0%D7%95%D7%9F#.D7.9E.D7.A8.D7.97.D7.91-.D7.A9.D7.9D_.D7.9C.D7.9E.D7.A9.D7.97.D7.A7.D7.99.D7.9D), nevertheless we ask you not to implement it yet because discussion is still continuing both on namespace and on related issues.
Comment 6 Happy-melon 2009-05-15 10:02:51 UTC
That's certainly true :D I admit I misunderstood what was being asked for; it looked like a hit-and-run from a random who just wanted somewhere to host an RPG or something. But now I see what you mean, and I can see the educational value in it. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Comment 7 Siebrand Mazeland 2009-06-01 15:34:36 UTC
To site requests. Please add 'shell' whenever there is consensus - my Hebrew is a little rusty.
Comment 8 Brion Vibber 2009-07-13 19:13:35 UTC
Nothing to do if there's no consensus. Page looks vague (not that I can read it ;)

Reopen when this is decided locally.
