Description Purodha Blissenbach 2009-04-26 10:06:03 UTC
MediaWiki:version-revision, which btw. was better named
MediaWiki:version-svn-revision for clarity,
cannot currentlybe set to yield an empty string.
(If it could, the blank space behind it would probably
be suppressed, too, since braces are inserted by
software)

Making it an empty message in a language yields the
fallback from another language, or English "Revision".

Making it "-", or another version of a dash, yields
<Version-revision>, which one also does not want.

I suggest to amend the message to include the brackets,
text, space, and revision number via a parameter, that is:
"(Revision $1)"

Thus translations can freely choose the type of brackets
they want, they can use equivalents of "[01234th revision
in subversion]", etc.
