This happened to me on two occasions:
* [[Andre Haidu]]: on 4-apr-09 added category Category:Israeli composers, but his name still does not appear in this category

* [[Joe Sutton]]: On 19-Jan-09 Added Category:American dramatists and playwrights, but his name still does not appear in this category.

Both present in the respective categories for me. In general, making a 'null edit' (click "edit", then "save", without changing anything) fixes problems like this.
