Description ipatrol 2009-03-21 00:15:40 UTC
Thisis something going around on the English Wikipedia. The whole idea is that the problem of fixing double redirects is so cumbersome that we would rather just allow them to go through. The required fix is simple: just change $wgMaxRedirects=1 to $wgMaxRedirects=2 in the settings file. The protection was put in place to prevent infinite loops, but this change will still prevent them, two redirs going to each other would only go to the first redirect. Triple redirects are so rare they shouldn't be a problem.
