Recentchangeslinked only list the *last* change to a given page, whereas recentchanges lists *all* changes to a given article within the specified number of recent changes shown. If recentchangeslinked is to be used to watch page changes closely it would be advantageous that the behaviour was the same as for recentchanges.
Addon: The enhancement as described for Special:Recentchangeslinked also applies to Special:Watchlist, as you would also expect this to have the same behaviour as Special:Recentchanges. Bjarte
Users can now elect to view an expanded watchlist in their preferences.
It's pretty silly, but it's not too hard to write an external HTML filter that causes only the latest revision for each page to be displayed. Here's one example that works, in lieu of this feature being officially implemented. http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/offtoolserver/RC_firstonly?url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fw%2Findex.php%3Ftitle%3DSpecial%3ARecentchangeslinked%26target%3DWikipedia%253AList_of_policies

It's not fixed, the behavior is still as comment #0 described. (in Special:Recentchangeslinked, there is no option to make it display only the LAST diff for each page... it will only display EVERY diff for each page)
I would personally to see a feature like the external script from comment #3 be implemented into Special:Recentchanges, so it would only show the last edit from each page, just like Special:Watchlist does. In the projects I'm doing, this feature would be really helpful to keep on top of discussions in talk pages.
Changed component to "RecentChanges"

You can use enhanced recent changes and it'll fold all changes to the same page on the same day into one. This gets pretty close to achieving what you're asking for except for the fact that it doesn't group across days (which is something I really would've liked to see back in the day that I still kept up on RC on a smaller wiki)
