Don't link selected file history versions on Image Pages. It links to the page where you are anyway. Usability rule #5: Don't link to pages you view atm ;) Unlinking the selected file history makes the bold highlighting obsolete which looks crap anyway when you only have a single file version.
well it links to the file directly not the image page but still the bold highlight looks crap ;) When you you view the selected file history you have 3 links on the page linking to the file directly: the bold timestamp, the file-icon, the link below the file-icon. 1 should be enough.
if it's an image it are even 4(!) with the thumbnail in the file history table.
This makes no sense to me. Please try to state clearly the change you are asking for and the rationale for it.
Two issues actually. Example: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/File:NagVis_Status.png * 4 links are linking the full URL. From the usability point of view this should be avoided. * The current file history date shouldn't be linked so it doesn't to be bold (which looks totally confusing if there is only one file revision like here http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/File:Calendar_day.JPG ) a bold link lets the user think he can find something important there but what is linked? Just the full URL once more. ;) So make the current file history date a) not bold and plain text to indicate this the revision used atm.
There's only 2 links to the current version of the file (not 4) 1) The one under the image and 2) The most recent one in the history table. Can't see any major reason to un-bold the most recent one or de-link it. It looks fine and isn't really a usability issue. Marking WONTFIX.
