Description Techman224 2009-03-07 16:52:47 UTC
When I went to protect the main page in my wiki on Mediawiki r48131, I've set 'edit' to administrators only without checking the box unlocking move protection. However, it only protected the page from being moved and not being edited, and also it logged as being protected.
Comment 1 Techman224 2009-03-07 17:07:34 UTC
I've also tried to protect the page from editing by checking the unlock move permissions check box, and it still doesn't want to protect the page from editing, only from moving.

As of latest trunk it seems to WORKFORME.

Let me give you more details that might solve this, I've suppressed all the protection logs using suppressrevision before I had this problem (the Main Page was the only page which had a log of protections). After that, I was no longer able to protect any page from editing. Maybe this might help you.

I also tried to unsuppress the log to see if it worked again, but it didn't.

I've deleted the page_restrictions and protected_titles tables from mysql, and ran update.php, and the problem was corrected.
