I'm using kmltool in a French article using the modèle:KML. There is a big problem with the interpretation of French accent by kmltool, wikipedia or Google. For instance, the calling of KML is with {{urlencode:}} and {{FULLPAGENAME}}. In the cas of Liste des volcans d'Europe (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_des_volcans_d%27Europe), FULLPAGENAME should give "Liste_des_volcans_d%27Europe" but it gives "Liste+des+volcans+d%26%2339%3BEurope" which makes Google Maps and KML bomb.

Other accents in the articles caused ASCII interpretation bugs : Google Maps is having trouble with the é in the Amérique heading. It was sent as U+00E9 and Google refused to parse the data, but when sent as U+C3A9, it works

Umm, kmltool is a product of Google, why are you reporting that here? Perhaps you should use {{FULLPAGENAMEE}}?

Please reopen if there is a bug in MediaWiki.
