This morning, I noticed that the &from option in url like in this one : http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cat%C3%A9gorie:Image_CC-BY-SA-1.0&from=K no longuer works... It is used a lot on fr. Like in the template CategoryTOC
Expanding a bit more, http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cat%C3%A9gorie:Image_CC-BY-SA-1.0&from=C (using a given string) doesn't work, but http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cat%C3%A9gorie:Image_CC-BY-SA-1.0&from=Fichier%3AClaude+Caill%C3%A91.JPG (using an category member name) does. On the other hand, I don't find this issue on en:, where http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:All_non-free_media&from=Bm works for example
This is INVALID: the category's members all have sortkeys starting with an F (more specifically, with Fichier:, the French localization of File:), which is why &from=K shows nothing and &from=C shows everything. The software isn't broken, frwiki's categorization of images is. See http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=categorymembers&cmtitle=Cat%E9gorie:Image%20CC-BY-SA-1.0&cmprop=sortkey|title|ids&cmsort=sortkey for a list of the first 10 sortkeys in the mentioned category.
