Description toe_head2001 2009-02-04 04:39:07 UTC
When an article is redirect to a category, the article should not be listed in the category.

The artilce with #redirect should not be tagged with
Comment 1 toe_head2001 2009-02-04 06:40:37 UTC
#REDIRECT :Category:Glossary
Comment 2 Gurch 2009-02-04 11:50:11 UTC
To make that a bit clearer: isn't a link but rather an instruction to include the page in the category. Similarly, isn't a link but an embedded image. Using :Category:Foo produces a link and so that should be used for redirects.

It's kind of like the difference between Template:Foo linking to a template and Foo including it; I believe at one point there was a proposal to do categories and images with curly bracket syntax to make this less confusing but nothing came of it.
