Description Mark Ryan 2009-02-01 12:01:29 UTC
Virus emails with *.exe, *.pif and *.scr extensions are making it through to the queues, presumably as a result of the loss of spam filters in the upgrade. Emails with such attachments should be sent to junk automatically, or have the attachments stripped (or both).
Comment 1 Mark Bergsma 2009-02-02 01:28:23 UTC
Virus/malware checking is different from spam checking. Spam filters / SpamAssassin is set up like before the upgrade, however I'm not aware of any additional malware filtering in place.

Jens - do you know more about this perhaps?

Mailman can be configured to dump these filetypes, but it is up to the list owners to do so.
Comment 3 Prodego 2009-02-02 01:59:38 UTC
Oops, misread queues. :)

Mark, could you perhaps install ClamAV? Maybe like this? <http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/141>
