Description P.Copp 2009-01-25 21:26:59 UTC
MessageCache::loadFromDB() explicitly excludes all pages with slashes, so messages like [[MediaWiki:Editnotice-0-Foo/bar]] are not loaded regularly. Although it is possible to force the message in the cache with ?action=purge, it is not very convenient to do this every day.

So it would be nice, if you could replace the slash with an other character (perhaps '\'), so you can use the message [[MediaWiki:Editnotice-0-Foo\bar]] to specify a custom edit notice for [[Foo/bar]].

I believe you can use hyphens in place of the /s. Try [[MediaWiki:Editnotice-0-Foo-bar]]?
Comment 2 P.Copp 2009-01-25 21:40:36 UTC
Hmm, doesn't work for me.
Comment 3 P.Copp 2009-12-30 13:20:59 UTC
This bug is obsolete now, that the editnotice feature has been disabled. Closing as INVALID
