I tried to replace the (English) site notice with a translated one but now we have two.

See attachment.

By the way, this site notice, and all the recent ones, had an uggly layout, and were consuming an enourmous amount of space.

I think this is probably something users can fix, not the extension itself. Leaving it open in case I'm wrong.

The local notice won't be able to override the central notice. You'll need to make those changes, layout fixes/suggestions etc. on Meta-Wiki.
